A Canadian toddler who sang his favourite dish, butter chicken, as he fell asleep was rewarded for his hard work with a serving of the popular Indian dish for dinner the next day. A video of the toddler shared by his entrepreneur mother is currently winning hearts on social media.

Entrepreneur Breanna Hughes shared a video of her two-year-old son Hayes rolling around in his crib while singing about butter chicken. “Butter chicken. Yum. Yum… it’s so good. Butter chicken. I love butter, I love butter chicken,” the toddler sings in the video, which has been viewed over 4 million times on Instagram.

“My two-year-old sang himself to sleep singing about… butter chicken,” Hughes wrote on Instagram, sharing nannycam footage of the two-year-old singing.

The clip featuring Hayes’ singing thrilled millions of people around the world.

“I’m 477 months old and I sing about butter chicken every night before I go to bed. Totally normal behavior,” joked one Instagram user.

“You have to play this at his wedding and serve… butter chicken,” suggested another.

“Someone should make this baby butter chicken,” wrote a third commenter.

Hughes, co-founder of fertility supplement brand Bird&Be, said her whole family are “huge fans of Indian cuisine and culture.”

The next day, Hayes had a bowl of butter chicken and some naan for dinner. “I had to give Hayes butter chicken tonight to celebrate over 200,000 views on his butter chicken video!” his mom wrote on Instagram.

In the comments section, several people talked about their love for Butter Chicken.

“We are an expat family living in India and when our son was that age, he was also obsessed with butter chicken. We took him to Daryaganj, the restaurant that invented it. He was so happy and loudly proclaiming how much he loved butter chicken that the man who created the original recipe came over and took a few photos with us. He even gave me a few tips and tricks to make the perfect butter chicken at home. To this day, over a decade later, it is still my son’s favorite food,” recalled one woman.
