An Israeli war against Lebanon could affect all fronts: Iran’s UN mission

Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations warns that an Israeli attack on Lebanon would trigger a “devastating” war in which all resistance fronts could participate.

Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations warned that a full-scale Israeli attack on Lebanon would lead to a “devastating” war.

“Although Iran considers the Zionist regime’s propaganda about attacking Lebanon as psychological warfare, should it escalate into full-scale military aggression, it will be a devastating war. All options, including the full participation of all resistance fronts, are on the table,” the mission said at X.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stated on June 18 that “Israel” had approved and confirmed “operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon.”

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz later stated that “Israel” was close to changing its stance toward Hezbollah and Lebanon, and hinted at an attack that would hit Hezbollah and Lebanon hard.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on June 19 regarding a possible escalation: “The possibility of an invasion of al-Jalil remains if the confrontation escalates.”

Earlier this week, Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff Air Force General Charles Q. Brown told reporters in Botswana that a large-scale Israeli attack on Lebanon would risk an Iranian response and could trigger a broader war that could endanger U.S. forces in the region.

Brown stressed that the United States would likely not be able to help Israel defend itself against a major war with Hezbollah in Lebanon, as it did in April, citing the power of the resistance’s short-range weapons, which would be harder to intercept due to several factors.

“Israel” plunged into the abyss

Earlier this month, on June 7, Israeli media discussed the dangers of escalating the war with Lebanon into a full-scale war, stressing that this would “push Israel to the brink of the abyss, especially given the lack of international legitimacy and an exhausted army.”

Military analyst Amos Harel writes for Haaretzstressed: “A war with Hezbollah would pose an unprecedented challenge to Israel’s home front. The northern and central regions would face a threat of unprecedented proportions.”

Harel went on to say that “a series of discussions held over the past two weeks with security and military officials” had revealed increasing signs that “Israel is heading for multidimensional failure.”

He stressed that Israel is in trouble on all fronts, the most critical being the “arena of confrontation with Hezbollah in Lebanon,” and that it faces the looming threat of all-out war. He warned that such a war would dwarf anything that has happened before, claiming: “Everything that happened before would pale in comparison.”
