Billy Ray Cyrus hit back at his estranged wife Firerose: She accused him of psychologically abusing her and leaving her one day before her scheduled double mastectomy.

The 62-year-old country singer filed new legal documents in the wake of her allegations, claiming she misled him about her identity and real last name, according to TMZ.

Billy said her background and the last name she gave him – her maiden name, Hodges – made him suspicious. Then his lawyers found out about her previous divorce, which she had never told him about, and also her legal last name.

He also claimed that Firerose had isolated him from one of his daughters – but did not name which one – and that she had interfered in his private affairs with malicious intent.

Cyrus filed for divorce from 37-year-old Firerose on May 23 after just seven months of marriage. He cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” as reasons for the separation.

Billy claims Firerose tried to use his name to advance her own musical career.

According to TMZ, she claimed he verbally and emotionally abused her after she told him she needed to have a double mastectomy and he changed his behavior toward her.

Firerose claimed that Billy said he would pay for it and that she became distressed after he filed for divorce.

She claimed that there was “chaos” in the weeks leading up to the preventative bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction surgery her doctor recommended in March.

The artist, who carries the BRCA1 gene mutation, also claimed that her husband “continuously verbally attacked” her and “locked her in an emotional and psychological prison.”

“When the wife attempted to raise specific concerns, the husband would often call her a ‘damn selfish bitch’ and continually claim that she was taking advantage of him,” the complaint states.

Firerose claims that he filed for divorce less than 24 hours before the scheduled surgery and that “Cyrus’ brother and sister-in-law banged on her bedroom door for three and a half hours that day, demanding that she leave their shared home.”

Billy said he became suspicious because of her background and the surname she had given him – her maiden name Hodges – and his lawyers then found her previous divorce, which she had never told him about, and her legal surname

She said she did so and made the decision to postpone her surgery “indefinitely” because she no longer has a permanent address and “reportedly relies on Cyrus’ health insurance and previous promises to pay for her surgery.”

Firerose, who is seeking child support from Cyrus, subsequently accused Cyrus of intentionally trying to sabotage her career “in retaliation.”

“The accumulation of years of verbal, emotional and psychological abuse, combined with the fact that the husband was directly involved in denying the wife access to income and future opportunities, has caused the wife to experience severe emotional distress as a result of the husband’s actions,” the complaint states. “The wife has been required to seek emergency sessions with her therapist for psychological treatment on more than one occasion.”

Cyrus’ lawyers denied Firerose’s allegations to DailyMail.com.

“We regret that Ms. Hodges has chosen to air this 7-month marriage in the press, leaving Mr. Cyrus no other option but to set the record straight,” his lawyers said in a statement. “The allegations made by Ms. Hodges in her answer and counterclaim are particularly confusing and suspect in their credibility given that she asked Mr. Cyrus to forgive her and take her back just 2 days after he filed his petition for divorce.”

Cyrus’ representatives further claimed that “when Mr. Cyrus returned home two days after Ms. Hodges was ordered by court order to vacate the residence he had lived in for over 25 years and was permitted to return, he discovered a handwritten note from Ms. Hodges expressing her love and desire to be with Mr. Cyrus.”

Cyrus’s lawyers concluded: “If Mr. Cyrus was truly guilty of the allegations made by Ms. Hodges in her pleadings, then it is unfathomable to attempt to explain why she wanted to live with him again. Moreover, she begged him to give her a chance to explain everything.”

Firerose’s claims “are particularly confusing and questionable in their credibility given that she begged Cyrus to forgive her and take her back just two days after he filed for divorce,” representatives for Billy Ray Cyrus said in a statement to DailyMail.com on Tuesday.

DailyMail.com has obtained a copy of a lawsuit filed by Cyrus’ lawyers in Williamson County, Tennessee, court on Monday.

Excerpts from the court filing include a screenshot of a text message and an image of a handwritten note Firerose wrote to Cyrus days after he filed for divorce on May 23 after about seven months of marriage.

In both the text and the note, Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, seems to be trying to save the relationship under difficult circumstances for which she provided no concrete examples.

Cyrus’ reps said the handwritten note – in which she “expressed her love and desire to be with the Achy Breaky Heart singer” – was written by Firerose and left for Cyrus after she vacated her former home under court order.

The note read: “I miss you more than I can express, baby. Please let’s work this out and let this hellish experience bring us nothing but closer together. I need you. I love you. I’m so sorry.”

He also claimed that Firerose had isolated him from one of his daughters – but did not name which one – and that she had interfered in his personal affairs with malicious intent.

Cyrus’ reps said Firerose wrote a long text message that “clearly speaks for itself” – saying she wanted to make peace with him and was very upset about their relationship problems.

The former Hannah Montana star, who is seeking an annulment of his marriage, also accused Firerose of overdrawing his credit card after filing for divorce.

In new court documents obtained by TMZ on Friday, Cyrus claimed that Firerose made 37 unauthorized charges on his American Express card between May 23 and June 7, totaling a whopping $96,986.05.

Billy also filed for an injunction to prevent the Australian-born singer from accessing his bank accounts and credit cards.

He further claimed that his estranged wife – who denies the allegations – made the accusations without his consent, adding that he never gave her access to his cards.
