Love Island’s Samantha Kenny reveals who she would have liked to have been with

Okay, first things first. The After the intense farewell and exit from Love Island, we start with the question in the style of Holly Willoughby: “Are you OK? I hope so.”

*Obviously spoilers for Love Island*

Last night, Love Island 2024 ramped up the drama even further when Samantha Kenny was surprisingly dumped, leaving her single and, well, dumped. What followed was one of the most iconic Love Island exits of all time, with Samantha telling both her villa ex Joey Essex and his new stunning girlfriend Grace Jackson to, erm, get one over on.

Forget fake hugs, kisses and well wishes (we can’t decide if Samantha would be the best or worst PR), our Samantha stayed authentic and left Joey with his head at the fire pit looking like an extra in a celebratory East 17 music video (google it, Generation Z).

In short, Samantha and Joey had been together as a couple for their first two weeks in the villa (a connection that, much to our horror, sent Sam Taylor home, we might note); while the pair took things slowly physically and intimately, a connection clearly began to develop.

Then Joey’s ex Grace comes to the villa as an absolute sex bomb and within a few hours Joey is smooching Grace here and there and, um, not take it slow. The turnaround has devastated Samantha and tensions are frosty between the Liverpool fan favourite and the new couple.

Of course, at the next reunion, Samantha was left alone and as she prepared to leave the villa, she told an apologetic Grace: “No offense, baby, but I don’t want to hear that.” She then said to a stunned and unusually shy Joey: “Save it, mate.”

As embarrassing as it was – and we’re doing our best to remain as neutral as possible here (journalism is HARD) – it was pretty iconic of Samantha.

Shortly after leaving the villa, newly spurned Samantha was interviewed by Love Island producers about her rather short time in the villa. She was asked if she wished she had developed relationships with any of the other guys – and her answer was eye-opening. We also wondered: WHY, SAMANTHA?

Lest we forget, Samantha always said on Love Island that she was looking for a cheeky cockney boy. And surprise, surprise, she revealed that she regrets not trying out Ronnie Vint, who is currently dating new bombshell Tiffany Leighton.

When asked if there were any other boys she would have liked to get to know better, Samantha told producers, “Definitely Ronnie. Ronnie is more my type than Joey, but I feel like Ronnie didn’t try to get involved with me because he didn’t want to compete against Joey.”

Tea.

We’re probably preaching open doors here, but just in case, Reddit, Love Island producers… what do you think about a Molly Marsh-style Casa Amor return? Also give first-time dumpee Sam a second chance, there just isn’t enough body hair in this villa for our liking.

Love Island returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
