Prince Harry wants to meet Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce after raving about meeting Williams on the Eras Tour

Next month’s ESPY Awards promise to be an interesting affair for Prince Harry and Taylor Swift’s NFL boyfriend Travis Kelce. The Duke, who was awarded the prestigious Pat Tillman Award for Service, will likely be “just steps away” from the Kansas City tight end, who is also reportedly invited to the ceremony. This possible in-person meeting comes hot on the heels of Kelce’s highly publicized encounter with Harry’s brother, Prince William, at Swift’s concert, after which he gushed about the prince on a podcast.

The ESPY Awards, also known as the Oscars of sports, will be held in Los Angeles on July 11. The Duke of Sussex has been selected as an honorary honoree for his Invictus Games initiative. This global sporting event was launched by Harry in 2014 and serves as a stage for wounded, injured and sick military personnel, including active and former military personnel.

Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs are also nominated in the “Best Team of the Year” category after their Super Bowl victory in February. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a close friend of Kelce, is nominated as best male athlete and therefore has a good chance of walking the red carpet.

When Travis Kelce raved about Prince William

Kelce was present at the opening day of Taylor Swift’s tour stop at Wembley Stadium in London. That same day, Prince William also attended the show along with his children Charlotte and George to celebrate his 42nd birthday. Shortly before the show, Taylor took a selfie with the royals and her boyfriend, which she later posted on her Instagram, wishing the prince a happy birthday. The NFL star later appeared on his podcast New Heights and told his brother Jason that “Prince William was the coolest son of a bitch.”

“They were an absolute joy to me. I wasn’t sure whether I should bow to them or curtsy or just be an American idiot and shake their hands,” he added. The NFL tight end went on to say that no other prince comes close to William, which some took as a subtle dig at Harry.

Meghan will likely accompany Harry to the ESPY Awards

The Duchess is expected to accompany Harry at the event, which will be hosted by tennis star Serena Williams, known to be a close friend of the Sussexes. Meghan previously reportedly invited Swift to appear on her Archetypes podcast, but the singer declined. Now, a source told The Sun that Harry will likely be “just a few feet away from Kelce.” The source added: “Travis is the most gregarious, easygoing and nice person in any room and will surely want to say hello to the Prince and interact with the Sussexes.” For Harry, however, the encounter could be “potentially awkward,” especially after getting on so well with his estranged brother Williams.
