LIVE updates on Tennessee vs Florida State

The Tennessee Volunteers and Florida State Seminoles will play a rematch in the College World Series semifinals. Tennessee won the first game in dramatic fashion by coming back in the late innings and then holding on in the ninth inning. Christian Moore also became only the second player in College World Series history to hit a cycle.

Tennessee comes into Wednesday’s semifinals on two days of rest after a 6-1 victory over No. 4 North Carolina on Sunday. The win featured standout performances from starting pitcher Drew Beam, who allowed one run in five innings, and Kavares Tears, who went 2-4 with four RBIs.

Starting on the mound for the Vols is Zander Sechrist, who holds a record of 4-1 with a 3.26 ERA. Sechrist is coming off a dominant performance in the Knoxville Super Regional Championship game against Evansville, allowing just one run in 6.1 innings pitched. Florida State has not yet announced its starting pitcher.

If Tennessee wins the game, the team advances to the College World Series, but if Florida State wins, the two teams will play again in an elimination game for a spot in the championship series.
