The last few years have been transformative for Love Fiend, to say the least. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the band signed a record deal with In The Red Records in May 2023 and are now at the peak of their career with the release of their new record.

They sound like The Cars on drugs, with hints of ska, punk, blues and rock’n’roll, permeated by synthesizers and saxophones and saturated with guitars, drums and bass. Their debut album entitled Handle with cautionis out July 12th and is a nine-track, super-fun LP that will have you dancing in the aisles even when you’re at home or at work. Love Fiend sing about everyday life and adventures and the lyrics are sharp and tasteful as the lyrics make you think about the subject at hand. They deliver their message melodically and with ease as their music is upbeat and fun.

The record is superbly produced! As the musicianship is top notch, this group of tunes doesn’t need anyone to amplify their content. The vocals are poised and confident and beautifully recorded. You can hear how much time and care went into recording each tune because it turns out superb. The musical range is used so well that each instrument is in its own little world and then, as if by magic, *poof* they all come together to form the bigger picture, a great record.

“What began as a conversation about the meaning of the common phrase ‘no hard feelings’ evolved into a structured academic study of the cosmological origins of emotions,” they say. “We discovered that before the human heart had fully evolved, emotions first lay quietly in the Earth’s crust – fossilized, rock-hard, and solid as a rock.”

Congratulations to Love Fiend on a worthwhile journey, a well-produced record and open doors that still need to be walked through.
