A press conference was held to introduce the Atlanta Hawks’ new draft picks, Zaccharie Risacher and Nikola Djurišič.

There is already great anticipation in Atlanta for first-round draft pick Zaccharie Risacher. In conversation with Risacher, he talks about the moment he found out he had been drafted. “It was something special… I’m just happy to be with the Hawks now.”

In the Risacher household, sport is not just a competition, but rather a way of life that keeps the family together. Basketball in particular has a special place and is very dear to Stéphane Risacher, a former professional player in France and father of Zaccharie.

“For us, sport, especially basketball, was always more than just a game,” says Stéphane Risacher. “It was a way of building a bond.” As a former athlete, he knows the nuances of the game and the opportunities it offers. However, his perspective changes when he looks at it from the perspective of fatherhood. “Balancing the knowledge of sport and its possibilities with the role of parent was emotionally overwhelming,” he admits. Nevertheless, the whole family is excited as Zaccharie takes the next steps in his career.

Both players have an international background that has made them the athletes they are today,” noted the Hawks’ newcomers. “I’m ready to do whatever it takes to win,” said Djurišič, who was selected in the second round of the draft. Risacher echoed that sentiment, adding, “I always give 110%.” Djurišič also emphasized his eagerness to learn and grow together with his new teammates, explaining, “It’s been a hectic month. I’m super tired. But when I arrived in Atlanta, it was like a burst of energy… It feels like a family here.”

Hawks general manager Landry Fields emphasized the team’s commitment to developing young talent and building for the future. “Zaccharie and Nikola embody the qualities we value: dedication, skill and a team mentality,” he added. “It was about knowing who we wanted, being aggressive and ultimately getting our guys.”

At the end of the press conference, there was optimism in the air among fans and team personnel. Training camp is just around the corner and the anticipation of an exciting season for the Atlanta Hawks and their new signings Risacher and Djurišič continues to grow.
