Pennsylvania’s ‘disgusting mom’ had child porn: affidavit

Victoria “Tori” Madlein Carney, of Rose Hill Drive in New Cumberland, was arrested Wednesday and charged with 19 counts of possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility, all felonies, according to the attorney general’s statement.

Her arrest came immediately following an investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after ICAC received a cybertip from X Corp (formerly known as Twitter) via user “Disgusting Mama,” the affidavit states.

Investigators later managed to trace the user through the email address “[email protected],” which led them to Carney’s IP address.

A warrantless search was conducted at her parents’ home, where she lived with her 9-year-old son. On June 26, officers found 19 images on her devices, 17 of which depicted “prepubescent minors” and one of which depicted a toddler, as described in the affidavit.

After being read her rights and taken for a recorded interview with investigators, she admitted to reading sexual fantasy stories involving young children on websites. However, as officials said in the affidavit, she denied having knowledge of the email address or Twitter/X account or knowing that her devices contained sexual images.

“This proactive investigation into online file sharing has allegedly uncovered a cache of disturbing files depicting very young children,” said Attorney General Henry. “My office is committed to finding perpetrators who lurk in online forums and attempt to exploit our most vulnerable citizens, children.”

Carney’s preliminary arraignment was held on Wednesday, June 26, at 1 p.m. before Judge Joseph Spadaccino, according to her court record. Her bail was set at $250,000, which she failed to pay, so she remains in the York County Jail until her preliminary hearing, also scheduled for July 15 at 1 p.m. before Judge Spadaccino.
