Justin Timberlake’s lawyer says the singer will ‘vigorously’ fight drunk driving charges. Here’s everything we know

Popular singer and pop icon Justin Timberlake was arrested on Tuesday for alleged drunk driving. Although the musician is accused of drunk driving, his lawyer Edward Burke Jr. said he would “vigorously” fight the allegations against the singer.

In a statement to Deadline, Burke Jr. said: “I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations. I will have much to say in due course, but am currently awaiting the full findings from the prosecution.”

Justin Timberlake has been charged with drunk driving

According to police, Justin was pulled over on Tuesday night after running a red light and speeding through the streets of Sag Harbor in New York City. The musician was driving his 2025 BMW the night of his arrest. Police confirmed that Timberlake’s next court date is July 26.

Meanwhile, police officials released a statement about the incident, which occurred Tuesday evening. The statement reads: “On June 18, 2024 at 12:37 a.m., Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee was observed driving a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a properly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane.”

It continues: “A Sag Harbor Village Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop and upon investigation, it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Mr. Timberlake was arrested, arraigned, and held overnight pending arraignment in the morning. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court at 9:30 a.m. on June 18, 2024 and released on his own bond.”

The next day, officials released a wanted photo of the singer.

Sources close to Jessica Biel revealed the actress’ comments on her husband’s arrest

While Timberlake was arrested for drunk driving, his wife and actress Jessica Biel was filming her next project. Although the actress has not commented on the incident, sources close to Biel claim that she is not happy with the situation but will stand by Timberlake’s side.

The source revealed in an interview with the media portal: “She had to film yesterday. She doesn’t like attention from the family, especially negative attention.”
