Famous London street hosts more than 40 glamorous cars and motorcycles

The 2024 edition of the Concours on Savile Row, said to be London’s most stylish car competition, opens this week on the Mayfair street famous for its bespoke tailoring.

The third edition of the car spectacle presents more than 45 eye-catching cars and motorcycles, including a rare Everrati Porsche 964, a 1961 Ferrari 250GT SWB California Spyder and a 2024 Koenigsegg Jesko.

Motorcycles from Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, Triumph, Zero Motorcycles and BMW Motorrad will also be on display, alongside two fully electric motorcycles, the SRX Concept and the CE-02. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 from 10am to 8pm. Entry is free.

H. Huntsman & Sons and Hagerty Insurance present a unique glimpse into a rock legend in the form of Charlie Watts’ 1939 Lagonda LG6 Rapide, which will be on display outside Huntsman. The late Rolling Stones drummer’s suits will be on display in the tailor shop.

A one-on-one discussion about Watts will take place in the Huntsman Lounge, moderated by automotive expert Simon Taylor, along with Dario Carnera, Head Tailor at Huntsman, and Paul Sexton, author of the official Charlie Watts biography, Charlie’s Good Tonight.

Henry Poole & Co will present two Mercedes-Benz cars, a 1920 Benz Spyder and an S580 Guard. The event will be complemented by talks about the luxury car brand and a Savile Row Gin tasting.

The fuselage of Spitfire AA810, the only surviving aircraft associated with those involved in the infamous ‘Great Escape’, will go on display at Gieves and Hawkes, along with a 3D-printed model of the Merlin engine that will be installed in the restored aircraft.

Luxury fabric retailer and weaver Holland & Sherry is collaborating with Austin Pedal Cars to present an exclusive Austin J40 Continuation Holland & Sherry Edition pedal car. Designed and built specifically for the 2024 Savile Row Concours, this little Austin features an interior by Holland & Sherry with a fabric specially designed for this one-off car.

Norton & Sons present PPE101 (a Jaguar XK120) together with a racing kit they designed and manufactured for the car’s participation in the 2024 Mille Miglia. PPE was owned and raced by Walter Grant-Norton, the great-grandson of the founder of Norton & Sons.

There will also be two seminars sponsored by tax and advisory firm Blick Rothenberg in the Royal Academy of Arts lecture theatre: ‘Restoration and Conservation – How Schneider, the Automotive Market and the Art World are Tackling Sustainability’ on 22 May and ‘The Future of Fuels: The Path to Zero Emissions’ on 23 May. Both seminars will be moderated by Simon Taylor.

Commenting on the seminars, Simon Sutcliffe, Partner at Blick Rothenberg, said: “The world keeps turning and we are currently looking at what impact modern fuels will have not only on the classic car world, but also how taxes might be raised in the future to maintain vehicle tax and provide benefits to modern motorists that do not appear to be on the government’s agenda.”

The CALLUM Skye makes its first public appearance at the Concours. The all-electric 4×4 has been designed and engineered to provide exciting and rewarding driving pleasure on the road, but is also designed to be very capable off-road.

Bennett Winch will showcase fashion model David Gandy’s Jaguar X120 and JP Hackett will have a Formula E simulator. There will also be new collections and whisky tastings with Jenson Button’s whisky brand Coachbuilt.

The 2023 Concours on Savile Row attracted more than 12,000 visitors. With an even larger selection of vehicles on offer this year, organizers are expecting a huge crowd.
