Simone Biles uses a Taylor Swift-style floor routine in the Olympic qualifiers

The 2024 Olympic Games begin in Paris, France, in less than a month, meaning some of the United States’ best athletes will be competing in qualifying events this weekend.

And that group includes Simone Biles, arguably the greatest gymnast of all time. The 27-year-old has four gold medals to her name – one silver and two bronze – as well as 23 gold medals at world championships.

USA Today wrote that Biles was “a surefire candidate for the Paris team even before Friday night,” but she still impressed and wowed the crowd with a top score of 58.900.

Biles attracted most of her attention Friday night with her floor routine, which USA Today’s Tom Schad described as “masterful” and which Taylor Swift fans would likely call fantastic.

That’s because Biles uses a beat from a Swift song – “…Ready For It?” from 2017 Call – at the beginning of her routine. The mix ends with “Delresto (Echoes)”, a track by Travis Scott feat. Beyonce.

Listen:

According to NBC, Biles performed this floor exercise with Swift’s song at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic in May.

After the premiere she said:

“Actually, my agent suggested Taylor Swift (and) then I found this song by Beyoncé that I really liked and we did a kind of collaboration. … I love Taylor Swift and I love Beyoncé. … Those are my girls!”

Maybe Swift can take a break from her European tour and head over to Paris to see Biles use one of her songs in a great way.
