Webinar “Youth Action for Climate and Clean Air”: Register today

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) has launched the Youth Engagement Strategy on Climate Change and Air Pollution in 2023, with the aim of educating and inspiring young leaders to reduce air pollutants and improve air quality on a global scale.

The strategy recognizes the critical role young people play in tackling climate change and air pollution. To support young people in their efforts, CCAC, in collaboration with the Stockholm Environment Institute and the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP (CYMG), Fast Action on Climate to Ensure Intergenerational Justice (FACE), NDC Partnership and OpenAQ, is hosting a webinar on youth action on climate change and air pollution.

The webinar will focus on the impacts of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) such as methane, black carbon and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which contribute significantly to global warming and air pollution. Tackling these pollutants can bring immediate benefits to both the climate and public health. As future leaders and innovators, young people are in a unique position to drive solutions to these pressing problems.

Sarah West, Director of the SEI York Centre, will participate in a panel discussion on youth leadership and innovative solutions and citizen science to improve air quality.
