The concert series “Music on the Green” takes place for the 29th time | The Source Weekly
ÖThis summer, outdoor concerts are in full swing in Central Oregon. Redmond’s 29th annual Music on the Green is back at Sam Johnson Park. Grab a blanket and a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of free live music in the heart of Central Oregon. Music on the Green begins June 26th and runs through September 4th.
“I’m excited to spend the summer in our park. Sam Johnson Park is a beautiful setting for this concert series,” said Amanda Joe, event director for Visit Redmond and Music on the Green. “The City of Redmond Public Works Department does an excellent job of maintaining high-quality facilities and services for the streets and parks throughout the city.”
Attendees can expect some returning bands and some new ones. The series kicks off on June 26 with Bend-based Beatles cover band Juju Eyeball and concludes on September 4 with Redmond’s own traditional Hawaiian dancers Hokule’a Ohana.
“Every year we bring back some of our local favorites and add a few new bands that aren’t from this area. We bring some new sounds to Central Oregon,” Joe explains.

In addition to free music, Music on the Green features a selection of local food, drinks and desserts from vendors.
“We have some delicious food and drink trucks this year. Tumbleweed Beverage Bar will be offering drinks. For food, we have All Elements Korean Food, K-Dawgs, The Gobbler, Kona Ice, Cuppa Yo Frozen Yogurt, The Sweet Retreat Scoop N’Sip, Bend-YAY, and another food truck with chocolate covered strawberries,” says Joe.
The music series will take place every second Wednesday evening starting on June 26th. The music begins at 5:30 p.m.
