TORONTO (AP) — Juan Soto hit a three-run home run, Gleyber Torres added a two-run home run in his return to the lineup and the New York Yankees ended their worst losing streak of the season with a 16-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.

Aaron Judge had three hits and scored two runs for the Yankees, who struck out 18 hits and scored a season-high 1.24 runs.

New York scored seven runs on eight hits against two Toronto pitchers in the ninth inning. Yankees DH Jahmai Jones had two of his three hits in that inning.

Torres went 2-for-4 with three RBIs after being benched by manager Aaron Boone for the last two games.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit solo home runs for the Blue Jays, whose two-game winning streak was snapped.

Toronto’s George Springer hit an RBI single in the first inning and scored a run in the fifth when he was hit in the left hand by a pitch from Michael Tonkin with the bases loaded. Davis Schneider came in as a pinch hitter for Springer in the seventh inning. The Blue Jays said Springer did not suffer a fracture.

Tonkin (3-3) threw 1 2/3 innings and took the win.

The Blue Jays scored twice in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and chase down New York right-hander Marcus Stroman. But Toronto couldn’t take full advantage of the situation with the bases loaded and one out. Guerrero was picked off by a diving Jose Trevino at home plate while trying to score on a wild pitch, and Daulton Varsho misfired, leaving two runners standing.

After Jones and Anthony Volpe each singled to open the sixth inning, Soto chased left-hander Yusei Kikuchi (4-8) with a 396-footer off the second deck in right for his 20th home run of the season.

Judge hit a single against reliever Nate Pearson and scored on a double by JD Davis. Torres followed with a drive to left, his eighth of the season.

Kiner-Falefa hit his seventh home run of the season against Tonkin in the sixth inning. Guerrero added his 12th home run of the season against Luke Weaver in the seventh inning. Guerrero has hit five home runs in seven games.

New York’s DJ LeMahieu hit an RBI double in the eighth inning, his first extra-base hit of the season.

Stroman allowed three runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Kikuchi allowed four runs and four hits in five innings.

Yankees: Manager Aaron Boone said Giancarlo Stanton (left thigh) ran on a treadmill Thursday.

Blue Jays RHP Chris Bassitt (6-6, 3.45 ERA) is scheduled to start against Yankees LHP Nestor Cortes (4-6, 3.40) on Saturday afternoon.
