U2 sends flowers to Taylor Swift to welcome her at the Dublin Eras Tour shows

Taylor Swift received a warm welcome in Ireland ahead of her Eras tour performances this weekend.

On Friday, June 28, just hours before her first performance, the 34-year-old “So Long, London” singer posted a photo on her Instagram stories showing a bouquet of colorful flowers and a sweet message from the legendary rock band U2.

“Dear Taylor, welcome back to our hometown… should any of this remain?!!!!” wrote the legendary musicians. They signed it with “Your Irish fan club, Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry.”

Swift responded to the band’s letter, writing over her photo: “I’m already feeling the Irish hospitality!! @u2 thank you for always being so classy and cool.” She concluded her caption with the Irish flag emoji.

This is not the first time the pop star has received a kind gesture from U2. In 2018, the rock group sent her a bouquet of red roses and a note, also signed “From your Irish fan club,” to their two Reputation concerts at Croke Park in Dublin.

The “Karma” musician posted a photo of the flowers and the sweet note on her Instagram page and wrote: “I walked into my dressing room and found roses from @U2 and I was not prepared for this. I love U2, I love Ireland, let’s do this Croke Park!!!”

Swift will perform at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium from June 28-30, with Paramore opening both shows. Her trio of concerts follows her epic run of three shows at London’s Wembley Stadium from June 21-23, which featured all the stars – and even the royals! – as well as her NFL boyfriend Travis Kelce, only this time he’s on stage with her.

At her latest show on Sunday, the pop superstar shocked concertgoers by bringing her dapper football pro boyfriend to participate in her outfit change for “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart.” The Kansas City Chiefs player wore a tuxedo and top hat, stepping in for one of Swift’s dancers to carry her during the segment.

The surprise moment – which also featured Kelce showing off some of his signature dance moves – delighted the roaring crowd of Swifties and even caused Swift herself to “guffaw/swoon” at her boyfriend’s stage debut.

After her stops in Dublin, the Grammy winner will next travel to Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg and Munich for her performances in July. Swift confirmed that the extensive Eras Tour will finally end in Vancouver in December.
