NJ Transit drivers on the verge of a strike

S-Bahn service will require Biden’s intervention

New Jersey Transit train drivers are one step closer to a strike after National Conciliation Office The negotiations between the engineers’ union and the S-Bahn, which lasted more than four years, ended without a mediation reaching a conclusion.

The contract for nearly 500 train drivers expired in December 2019, and their union, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, demanded significant raises for the workers to bring their wages up to par with their counterparts at Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road.
