Chris Pratt talks about possible DCU role and Star-Lord’s MCU future

Chris Pratt is keeping open the possibility of working with James Gunn again in a DCU role, but he also hopes that his role as Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not over yet.

Pratt is known for his role as Star-Lord in many MCU films, especially as one of the stars of Gunn’s Protector of the Galaxy trilogy. Gunn has since been named co-CEO of DC Studios, effectively ending his MCU career as he focuses on building the DCU with Peter Safran. According to TMZ, Pratt was asked about the possibility of moving from the MCU to the DCU with a role in Gunn’s new cinematic universe. While Pratt confirmed he would be willing to do so, he noted that he doesn’t have a specific role in mind and feels more comfortable leaving the decision up to Gunn.

“So, There is always a chance (I could join the DCU). Of course, I couldn’t spoil it with you here on the sidewalk,” Pratt said. On the role he could play, the actor added: “Man, I have to leave that to the fans and people like James.. I’m not quite sure. I’m really not sure… Yes, of course, if it fits into my schedule and makes sense, then I would like to (join the DCU).”

Chris Pratt wants Star-Lord to return in the MCU

Gunn may be done with the MCU, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the Protector of the Galaxy Characters will not be seen again. Pratt noted that he still hopes to be approached by Marvel Studios to return as Star-Lord in a new MCU project. In any case, he is grateful for the appearance he has already had as Star-Lord, and also for even being in the conversation about potentially taking on another role in the DCU.

Pratt recently led the cast of The Garfield Movie as the voice of the titular cat. He can next be seen in the upcoming Netflix film The electric statewhich reunites him with Avengers: Endgame Co-directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. The film will be released on Netflix later in 2024.
