Stewart Friesen takes pole position in the Truck Series in Nashville

For the first time in nearly five years, Stewart Friesen will start from the pole position in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race.

Friesen, driver of the No. 52 Toyota Tundra for Halmar Friesen Racing, will lead the field in the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway after posting a lap of 159.999 mph on Friday (June 28). Friesen earned his fourth Truck Series pole and first since the 2019 season finale at Homestead.

Grant Enfinger started from the front row for the first time this season and reached a speed of 256.49 km/h, which brought his team into second place.

Championship leader Christian Eckes starts from third place, Ty Majeski from fourth. Rajah Caruth set the fifth fastest qualifying time after setting the fastest lap in practice.

Layne Riggs, Corey Heim, Kaden Honeycutt, Daniel Dye and Chase Purdy completed the top 10 qualifiers.

Clint Bowyer, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports, qualified 11th for his first NASCAR race since retiring from the Cup Series in 2020.

Nick Sanchez and Tanner Gray hit the outside wall during their qualifying laps and were forced to abort their run. Sanchez’s damage caused him to destroy the right rear corner of his No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado, forcing the team to use a backup car. Matt Mills and Ty Dillon were also unable to complete qualifying laps due to mechanical issues. All four drivers will start from the back of the grid and enter the race on owner points.

As previous race winners of the Craftsman Triple Truck Challenge, Sanchez and Heim each have a chance to win a $150,000 bonus.

Dawson Cram qualified 24th in the No. 46 Faction46 Chevrolet Silverado, normally driven by Thad Moffitt. Moffitt announced on Instagram Friday that he would not race at Nashville due to “circumstances beyond his control,” but he expects to be back at Pocono.

Keith McGee, Bryan Dauzat and Justin Carroll failed to qualify for the 36-truck field.

The Rackley Roofing 200 is scheduled to begin with the green flag at 8:19 p.m. ET on Friday. Coverage on Fox Sports 2 begins at 8:00 p.m. ET.
