During a book signing Friday afternoon (June 28) at the Danville Public Library, author Rob Witzel said his second “Super Penguin” book is selling quite well and he has plans to continue the series.

AUDIO: The first book ends on a cliffhanger, so they’re excited to see what happens next. Right now I’m writing the third book in the series, which will be a sort of spin-off. When I finish the second book, you’ll know roughly how it continues. But I’ve got about five or six of them in my head right now.

AUDIO: (And what do you like about these books?) Um, because they’re cool. (Did you like the first or the second better?) Both. (Okay, where are you from, Owen?) Um, Bismarck.

His 4 1/2 year old brother Brodie said he likes all penguins.

AUDIO: (You’re a super penguin fan?) Yes. (Okay, what do you like about it?) All penguins… all… all penguins.

Rob Witzel said that despite plans for more books, there is currently no film deal; at least not yet!
