Courtesy of Taylor Swift/InstagramThe Grammy winner has just completed a three-day performance at London’s Wembley Stadium. The shows were a huge success – and her boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s stage debut — Swift received some criticism from the Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl while you are in town.
Grohl, 55, insulted Swift during his band’s performance in London on Saturday, June 22, claiming the pop star doesn’t play her songs live.
“I know we were joking earlier about the Taylor Swift tour. I know she’s on her Epoch Tour,” he told the crowd, teasing them, “I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”
Grohl then poked fun at Swift’s world tour, which began in March 2023, saying, “That’s why we like to call our tour ‘The Errors Tour,’ because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few damn mistakes, too.”
He joked: “That’s because we actually play live. What? I’m just saying. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, right? Then you’ve come to the right place.”
Swift appeared to respond to Grohl’s claims during her Sunday, June 23, show in England’s capital. “Every single one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band that’s going to play live for you tonight for 3.5 hours, they deserve this so much,” she told her fans. “And every one of my fellow artists, too. And you have given this to us so generously, we will never forget it.”
While Swift received some criticism from Grohl, she received a lot of positive support from the celebrities who attended her shows, including Prince Williamwho brought his eldest children Prince George And Princess Charlotte for the concert on June 21. William, 42, posed backstage for a selfie with Swift and his children, as well as Kelce, 34, who was in town to cheer on his girlfriend.
Hugh Grant was among the A-list celebrities who attended one of Swift’s shows in London and raved about the experience.
“Dear @taylorswift13 you have an incredible show, a fantastic and very welcoming team and an excellent if huge boyfriend (#tequilashots.),” Grant, 63, wrote of X after watching Night 2 of the concert. “Thank you from an ageing London boy, his wife and an enthusiastic 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet.”
Swift was overwhelmed by Grant’s kind message and wrote back on Monday, June 24, “As a longtime Hugh Grant fan, this tweet is very important to my culture.”
