JustWatch: Taylor Swift’s golden streaming video touch

Taylor Swift’s stadium concerts continue to be sold out – including 67,000 visitors last night at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The singer-songwriter’s influence is no less great in the streaming video sector.

New data from JustWatch.com shows that Disney+ will be launching Taylor Swift / The Eras Tour concert video from March 14, the streamer saw almost 9% more traffic in the entire month following its release.

The concert video also generated twice as much streaming traffic as Swift’s previous concert video, “Miss Americana,” which was released on Netflix on January 31, 2020.

The tracker’s weekly charts are calculated by more than 40 million users, 13-14 million of whom are in the US. Their activities include, for example, clicking on a streaming offer, adding a title to a watchlist or marking a title as “watched”.

Since the limited documentary series is set to appear on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max platform, “Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood,JustWatch expects increased streaming interest in Max, partly due to Swift’s popularity and the sympathy of her fans following her public falling out with Braun, the music executive who acquired ownership rights to the master recordings of her first six albums in 2019.

Swift allegedly accused Braun of manipulation and bullying during the takeover of Swift’s previous label, Big Machine Records, by vowing to re-record the albums in order to fully own the master licenses.
