Chris Bullinger is waiting to be seen this summer

Chris Bullinger will release his latest album Waiting to be seen (Part 1) on August 16, the singer-songwriter and poet has just announced. The conceptual collection of 23 songs features sonic vignettes woven together by thematic connections and recurring characters. The album, which Chris describes as a reinvestment in his creativity, mixes classic country and rock.

The first single from the album Darlin’ ‘n’ Me showcases Bullinger’s unique blend of rock and roots influences. The song describes a whimsical journey from a stroll through the stock market to a playful game of truth or dare, reflecting on the beauty seen through the eyes of a loved one, framed by psychedelic lyrics and a captivating rock groove. Darlin’ ‘n’ Me is a joke at the idea of how beautiful a person can be through the eyes of a loved one, and embodies the album’s overarching narrative, the search for authentic connections.

Raised in the Midwest and influenced by down-on-his-luck, outlaw country singer-songwriters, Chris has made singing a defining part of his artistic identity, complemented by his soulful, weary vocals. As a seasoned songwriter, he writes songs full of deserved wisdom in the spirit of icons such as Bob Dylan And Townes Van Zandt“As a songwriter, I write more about truth than facts,” he explains, revealing his deep connection to the art of storytelling through music.

In college, Chris began recording for himself and later moved between jobs making records in the studio. However, his music career temporarily took a back seat as his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start several successful companies with his twin brother, including one that grew into one of the largest developers of renewable energy power plants in North America. Now that he has achieved his goals in the renewable energy business, Chris is ready to focus more energy on his music career.

The ensemble of Nashville musicians performed Waiting to be seen have developed an intuitive interaction over the years of working together in iconic Nashville. Bomb Shelter StudiosThis album concludes Chris’ Bomb Shelter Trilogya body of work that reflects his deep and ongoing commitment to his music. When Chris reflects on his journey, he says, “I’ve always felt like I’m doing the songs some sort of injustice by not releasing them. I’m very grateful that these songs are out there and will undoubtedly reach someone somewhere, whether it’s one person or a million.”

To date, Chris has recorded five critically acclaimed albums. His 2022 album, True reproduction and 2023 How to bleed Was No. 1 added At NACC people. He has 100,000 monthly listeners and over 2.8 million video views. As a songwriter, Chris believes that the process of songwriting – and art in general – consists of three key components: observation, empathy and rhythm. Accordingly, he is an astute observer of the human condition, often focusing on a key moment, empathizing with it and then expanding on that moment through rhythm.

Waiting to be seen marks a turning point in his career and is a testament to his keen ability to translate human experience into music that resonates. It’s a collection that promises to captivate and connect, reflecting both the nuances of individual stories and the universal truths of our shared humanity.
