Show off your fashion sense, enjoy brunch, and support the community at the same time at the Marion Women’s Club’s annual brunch on July 13th at 10:30 a.m. The theme is “Brunch ‘n Style.”

Guests will be treated to a fashion show by Paula Alves, owner of Paula’s Posh Picks, a fashion boutique in downtown Marion.

In keeping with the theme of “forward-looking fashion,” the women’s club is organizing a fashion-related service project.

“We invite our guests to bring new newborn clothes – 2T and/or shoes that are appropriate for interviews,” said Pam DeGood, brunch chair and secretary of the women’s club. “We will then donate these items to the Voice of Hope Pregnancy Center here in Marion and to the MTC/OSUM clothing bank.”

Incorporating a service project into the brunch is a way to honor the women’s club’s long-standing tradition of serving the community, according to Valerie Wigton, president of the women’s club.

“At last year’s brunch, guests donated art supplies to the Marion Family YMCA’s child care program. We had an overwhelming response,” Wigton said. “Serving our community has always been at the heart of our organization. It’s a great way to enjoy good food, friendships and fashion, yes, definitely, but also an opportunity to support two deserving local nonprofits at the same time.”

Vintage clothing from the 1900s and later is on display throughout the historic building, and a tour of the 1903 Women’s Club Home, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is offered.

The brunch is prepared by Women’s Club board member Sue Schwamberger and costs $30. The all-you-can-eat menu includes breakfast casserole, pulled pork sliders, a yogurt station, pasta salad, finger sandwiches, fruit skewers, Oreo “dirt” cake and mimosas, iced tea, coffee and juices.

The reservation deadline is July 9. To make a reservation, call or text 740-387-1366, visit The Marion Women’s Club on Facebook to register with a QR code, or visit MarionCountyFederationOfWomensClubs.com.
