June 28 (UPI) – Gracie Abrams took the stage on Today.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter carried out “Close to You” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry” during Friday’s episode of the NBC morning show.

“Close to You” appears on Abrams’ second studio album, The secret of usShe wrote the song seven years ago and reworked the title for her new album.

“I Love You, I’m Sorry” also appears on The secret of us.

In the interviewAbrams talked about collaborating with singer Taylor Swift on the song “Us.”

“We went out to dinner. We drank a lot, we talked about our lives and our albums and we were excited about all these stories. She said, ‘We need to go home and listen to the songs,'” Abrams said.

“We went home and wrote ‘Us’ based on the conversations we had over dinner,” she added.

Abrams had nothing but praise for Swift, calling the pop star “extraordinary.”

“She is an extraordinary friend and mentor as well as an artist and writer,” she said. “She is simply the best.”

Abrams released “Us” together with The secret of us last week.
