Rhonda Massie, wife of US Representative Thomas Massie, died

The wife of Republican U.S. Representative Thomas Massie died on Thursday, according to a post the congressman shared on social media.

Thomas Massie posted the news on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday morning, calling his wife Rhonda Massie his “high school sweetheart… the smartest and kindest woman I’ve ever known, my beautiful and wise forever queen.”

According to the post, the Massies were married for over 35 years.

Thomas Massie, who represents Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, also highlighted Rhonda Massie’s accomplishments, which include graduating as valedictorian of high school and graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering.

U.S. Rep. Andy Barr, who represents Kentucky’s 6th congressional district, said on social media that he was saddened by Rhonda Massie’s death and would keep Thomas Massie and his family “in his thoughts and prayers.”

Republican U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie, who represents Kentucky’s 2nd congressional district, called Rhonda Massie an “incredible woman” and said in a post that he would stand by Thomas Massie and his family “during this difficult time.”

Republican U.S. Rep. James Comer, who represents Kentucky’s 1st congressional district, said he and his wife were “deeply saddened by the news” and called Rhonda Massie “a beautiful human being inside and out.”

Former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron said his thoughts and prayers were with Massie and his family.

The Kentucky State Senate Majority Caucus also expressed its support for X and said its thoughts and prayers were with Massie and his family.

Thomas and Rhonda Massie had four children together and lived on a cattle ranch in Kentucky.

No information has been released about the cause of Rhonda Massie’s death.
