Lil Nas X’s latest song, “HERE WE GO!”, is the theme song for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, so you can safely call him Detective Montero.

The rapper released the energetic and catchy tune – which includes a sample of Harold Faltermeyer’s legendary original theme song “Axel F” from 1984’s “Beverly Hills Cop” – on Friday.

In a recent interview, Lil Nas X said he first heard the original theme song on “Family Guy” and thought, “Wait a minute, that’s actually a nice little tune,” before seeing the movie years later.

“It was pretty crazy actually,” said the “Old Town Road” singer about the opportunity to put his stamp on the popular Eddie Murphy film series. “I was a little emotional.”

According to a press release, Lil Nas X’s song appears several times in “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” and is played as the film’s theme song during the credits.
