Free music series, food and shopping in Tennessee town returns in July

The City of Springfield’s 1st Fridays series is expected to continue through October with live music, vendors and food trucks downtown.

The free, family-friendly series takes place every first Friday of the month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

In addition to the food, music and merchandise already mentioned, there will also be a children’s area run by Grace Baptist Church, a vehicle collection for car enthusiasts and over 80 local vendors offering something for every taste, according to a press release from the city.

Expected exhibitors include farmers, artists, manufacturers, bakers, artisans, boutiques, local businesses and downtown retailers, the press release said.

The next episode of the series is scheduled for July 5 and is expected to feature live music from Four on the Floor.

Other upcoming live music events sponsored by United Community Bank include performances by The Band Entice on August 2, Creek Water on September 6 and Ten Year Town on October 4.

Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and dance shoes, city officials said.

Nearly a dozen sponsors made this year’s series possible, including Safe Haven Wellness & Spa, The Credit Union for Robertson County, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Aaron Slate of Edward Jones Financial Advisor, United Community Bank, Our Serenity Shop, Historic Perk, Viridian Real Estate Partners, Grace Baptist Church and the Robertson County Family YMCA.
