Buffalo Trace Distillery has announced Colonel EH Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Rye Whiskeya new undiluted, unfiltered rye recipe that complements the Colonel EH Taylor, Jr. Collection. Matured at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, this limited edition is bottled at 126 Evidence.

Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., considered the “father of the modern bourbon industry,” purchased the OFC Distillery (now Buffalo Trace Distillery) in 1869. Here, the whiskey pioneer brewed pure rye whiskey for over 100 years before it re-emerged on the American whiskey landscape. He immediately left his mark on the industry by modernizing and expanding the facility and upgrading it with state-of-the-art grain equipment and a unique steam heating system that is still used in the Buffalo Trace Distillery’s barrel warehouses today. Taylor is celebrated, among other things, for playing a crucial role in the passage of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897.

The Barrel Proof Rye Whiskey is the 13^th Release to complement the Colonel EH Taylor, Jr. Collection. Others include Single Barrel Bourbon, Sour Mash Bourbon, Warehouse C Tornado Surviving Bourbon, Four Grain Bourbon and more. As with previous releases in the collection, the whiskey is housed in the familiar EH Taylor Jr. canister, which features a vintage label.
