Surprise! Keith Urban announces Underplay club gig for Sunday at Fine Line in Minneapolis

Country star Keith Urban was last seen in town playing to packed crowds in the stands at the Minnesota State Fair and at the Xcel Energy Center, and he’ll now be out in style for a surprise club appearance announced for this Sunday at the Fine Line in Minneapolis.

Tickets for the Underplay concert – which was revealed with just two days’ notice – go on sale Friday at 9 a.m. for $50 through axs.com. Strict rules are in place that prohibit transfer or resale of any ticket. The Fine Line has a capacity of 650 people.

“Minneapolis! It’s about to get wild,” Urban posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday morning with news of the performance.

Similar to the Pretenders’ performance at 7th St. Entry last summer between stadium concerts with Guns N’ Roses, Urban is squeezing the small performance between bigger shows at Country Fest and Summerfest in Wisconsin this weekend and a concert at Grant Park in Chicago next weekend.

He pulled off a similar stunt in May when he performed at Club Dada in Dallas. The 56-year-old singer of “Somebody Like You” raved about his experience at X after the show:

“I started playing in loud clubs, just like @ClubDadaDFW four hours a night, five nights a week, and I love the energy of a room like this where there’s barely any room between all of you and the mic stand. Dallas, I could have played all night!!!!”

Urban’s first album in four years, “High,” is set to be released on September 20. The Australian singer was already in the news once this week after posting a sweet message for his 18th anniversary with his wife, actress Nicole Kidman.
