Tyler Childers releases “Song While You’re Away”: Stream

Tyler Childers has released a studio recording of his song “Song While You’re Away” for the soundtrack of the upcoming film Twisters.

The third single from the soundtrack album (out July 19) is “Song While You’re Away,” a soulful ballad that captures the gritty realism and American poetry that Childers masters. The song begins with a simple arrangement built around a piano part, and eventually evolves into an acoustic soundscape marked by pedal steel, mandolins, and harmonizing guitar lines.

For loyal Childers fans, the release of “Song While You’re Away” has been a long time coming. He’s been performing the song for years, with a 2016 session version racking up millions of views on YouTube. Now it’s released in all its studio glory. Stream the single below.

Together with Childers on the Twisters The soundtrack album features a crew of country heavyweights including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Shania Twain and many more. The film itself hits theaters on July 19th via Universal Pictures.
