AMC orders Silicon Valley series from Succession screenwriter

AMC and AMC+ have officially given a series order for the untitled Series set in Silicon Valleyfrom Succession writer Jonathan Glatzer. This would be his first major television project since serving as a writer, senior consultant and executive producer on the award-winning HBO drama, which ran for four seasons from 2018 to 2023.

What is the series set in Silicon Valley about?

According to Glatzer, the untitled project was inspired by the “terrifyingly self-centered people” who control today’s technology. The project will be produced by AMC Studios. This is Glatzer’s latest collaboration with AMC, having previously served as a producer on its hit legal drama Better Call Saul.

“Set in the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, swanky innovation labs and unforgiving private schools, the series centers on a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data that arises from a dispute between a self-proclaimed tech CEO, the ‘inventor of the future,’ and his self-serving ‘performance psychologist,'” reads the official logline (via Variety). “This act of corruption quickly spirals out of control for everyone involved, exposing the absurdities of ambition, corporate ethics and the fallibility of the people who shape the future of our world.”

“Get ready for a gripping, thrilling and authentic look behind the scenes of Silicon Valley,” said Dan McDermott, head of AMC Studios. “Jonathan is a huge talent and AMC is lucky to be home to his first series creation brought to life. The show that tells the lives of characters who are creating the world we will all live in is right here, right now. Truth is stranger than fiction, especially here.”
