Moving “last act of love” of the sons for their deceased father triggers tears on the Internet: “A touching tribute”

Moving “last act of love” of the sons for their deceased father triggers tears on the Internet: “A touching tribute”

The emptiness you feel after losing a loved one can only be filled by holding on to the good memories. Especially when you lose your parents, the skills and life lessons they imparted become more valuable to your children. Passing on that knowledge is perhaps the most beautiful way to honor your deceased parent. In a video by Mylene – who goes by @mylenemm on TikTok – that went viral this June, two sons paid tribute to their late father by doing something he taught them. With over 4.4 million views in just five days since its release, the video has touched many hearts online.

The short video shows two men in white overalls, goggles and masks spray painting a coffin. “Their final expression of love was to paint their father’s coffin, just like he taught them to paint cars,” the text overlay read. The two sons passionately paid their final respects to their late father by carrying on the life skills he taught them. Rather than just choosing any coffin, the sons decided to add their personal touches to it. Mylene added in the caption, “It hurts knowing I lost my grandfather but realizing they lost their father.”

Viewers were touched by the way the sons honored their late father. “Their grandfather would be proud to know that in their final act of love they used the knowledge he passed on to them,” @chapteralix reassured. “You can tell that doing a good job means a lot to them. I’m sure memories were running through their minds as they painted. Tell your loved ones you love them today. You don’t know how many days you have left,” @bushwic said. “This is beautiful and I can’t help but think this won’t be the last time. Each car they paint together will be a subtle memorial to their father. To be loved is to be remembered,” @marcelinebelladonna agreed. “Going out in style. Just the way he would have wanted,” @josef.suhonen added.

While many found the gesture heartbreakingly beautiful, some wanted Mylene to show what the final result looked like. So, the next day, Mylene posted a follow-up video showing the beautifully painted coffin. While the previous video didn’t reveal many artistic details, this video shows the intricate floral patterns and smooth surface of the painting.

In fact, the old man had done a great job of passing on his spray painting skills to his two sons. People were impressed by the stunningly beautiful exterior of the casket. Finally, the two brothers’ “final expression of love” had paid off so much that they were given recognition. “‘And just as you painted our future for us, we will paint your peace for you.’ My grandfather loved painting vintage cars, and my dad and uncle made sure to include every detail he liked,” Mylene mentioned in the caption. Even while mourning the loss of their father, the sons managed to honor the priceless skill he taught them.
