The Princeton Review names UGA the college with the best value

The University of Georgia was named According to The Princeton Review, it is one of the best universities in the country when it comes to providing excellent education and career preparation at a good price.

The education services company selected schools for the 2024 list based on data from its surveys of administrators at more than 650 colleges. Topics covered in those surveys included academic strength, costs, financial aid, graduation rates and student debt.

The company also surveyed the schools’ students and considered data from PayScale.com’s alumni surveys on their starting and mid-career salaries and job satisfaction. Based on these responses, The Princeton Review gave UGA a 92 out of 99 return on investment.

“I am pleased that the University of Georgia is recognized as one of the finest institutions of higher education in the country,” said President Jere W. Morehead. “Thanks to the exceptional quality of our faculty, staff and students, as well as the strong support of our alumni and friends, we are setting new standards of excellence in so many areas of our institution.”

In addition to being named the best public university, UGA also made it into the top 20 of the Princeton Review’s list of most successful public universities, ranking 9th for best alumni network, 11th for access to financial aid, 13th for best public universities, and 16th for internship placement.

In September, UGA was ranked among the top 20 best public universities in the country for the eighth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report. UGA ranked 47th nationally among all universities.

The University of Georgia’s Jere W. Morehead Honors College was recently named the best honors program and college in the country by College Transitions, publisher of the bestselling guidebook Colleges Worth Your Money.

Last academic year, Honors student Mariah Cady was one of only 32 students nationwide to be named Rhodes Scholars for 2024, marking the second consecutive year that this honor has been bestowed upon a UGA student. UGA is one of only five public universities in the U.S., along with the nation’s military academies, to have a Rhodes Scholar this year, and UGA has been among the top three public institutions awarding Rhodes Scholars for 30 years.

These and other recent awards have made the University of Georgia a popular choice for incoming freshmen. UGA received more than 43,000 applications and a record 26,760 applications for admission next fall and more than 43,090 applications total.

UGA continues to enhance its academic offerings and student support programs—including a growing active learning initiative, a variety of First-Year Odyssey courses, and peer-to-peer mentoring—resulting in record student achievement. The university has a 75% four-year graduation rate and an 88% six-year graduation rate, well above many comparable institutions. Of UGA’s Class of 2022 graduates, 96% were employed or continuing their education within six months of graduation.
