CNN Presidential Debate President Joe Biden War Room

Jen O’Malley Dillon, former White House chief of staff during President Biden’s first three years in office, released a statement following the CNN presidential debate saying former President Donald Trump’s performance “reminded the American people why they fired him four years ago and underscored how much is at stake for the future of our country this November.”

“Tonight, President Biden laid out a positive and successful vision for America’s future – a vision in which every American has a fair chance at the American dream, in which every one of our rights is protected, and in which our President fights to strengthen our democracy – not destroy it.

“On the other side of the stage stood Donald Trump, who offered a grim and backwards glimpse of the America that will look when he returns to the White House: a country where women are forced to beg for the health care they need to survive. A country that puts the interests of billionaires above those of working people. And a former president who failed to promise not once, not twice, but three times that he would accept the results of a free and fair election in November,” O’Malley Dillon said Thursday evening, according to an email from the Biden-Harris campaign team.
