Ryan Reynolds praises “Logan” as possibly “greatest comic book adaptation”

Ahead of the July 26 release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has expressed his love for his co-star Hugh Jackman’s acclaimed X-Men film. Loganwhich was directed by James Mangold in 2017. Before Logan made its debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year, it was originally planned to be Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine.

What did Ryan Reynolds say about Logan?

In a recent interview, Reynolds had high praise for Logan and talked about the parallels between the first Deadpool film and the Wolverine-centric movie in question. Currently, the 2017 film is still one of the highest-reviewed superhero movies ever, as it currently has a 93% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The movies were pretty much the same at that point,” Reynolds said (via Total Film). “Deadpool was different, and right after that came Logan, possibly the best comic book adaptation of all time.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Reynolds, Levy Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Zeb Wells. In the third installment, Jackman and Jennifer Garner come out of superhero retirement to reprise their respective iconic Marvel roles as Wolverine and Elektra. The sequel also sees the return of Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney as Peter, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. They are joined by MCU newcomers Emma Corrin from “The Crown” and Matthew Macfadyen from “Succession” who have also joined the cast, playing the roles of Cassandra Nova and TVA agent Paradox respectively.
