Love Island USA fans have no interest in politics and admit they forgot the presidential debate is tonight
Love Island fans have their priorities.
They confessed that they weren’t ready to skip their favorite TV show to watch the presidential debate, even though Love Island isn’t live but available on demand. On Reddit, one brave soul admitted that she was pretty clueless. “I didn’t even know there was a debate going on lmao,” she wrote.
“Are we all watching Love Island during the presidential debate or am I a bad American??” asked another fan. Others said it was a no-brainer to watch the show and chat about the events live. “It wasn’t even a question for me. Why would I watch something that stresses me out when I can watch something that brings me JOY?” asked another.

Some fans justified their decision by saying that they did not feel represented by politicians. On X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: “I see #loveisland because why should I watch two old white guys debate what is going to happen to me as a poor queer woman POC?”
“Excuse me, I’m currently watching the debate between my two presidents in question: Liv and Leah,” added one fan on Reddit. After all, there’s quite a bit of tension between Liv and Leah on the show right now. The girls voted to send Andrea home and there’s been a lot of tension between the women ever since. Plus, Rob certainly wasn’t happy with that choice.
Leah jumps on Rob’s conversation, but at the same time backtracks and downplays her role in the vote. “I think she’s very dishonest and I feel like she’s hurt by the way Rob treated her. I’m not saying her feelings aren’t valid, but her behavior isn’t,” Leah explained.
She added during a confessional, “We all owned up to our decision and I think it says a lot about someone’s decision when they say, ‘It wasn’t me. It wasn’t me. It wasn’t me.’ She said things to save herself and to get back in other people’s good graces… I don’t trust Leah.”
