Chris Pratt “devastated” by the sudden death of “Jurassic World” stunt double Tony McFarr

Chris Pratt is mourning the loss of his longtime stuntman Antonio “Tony” McFarr, who was found dead in his Orlando, Florida, home on Monday, his mother Donna confirmed to TMZ on Thursday. He was 47 years old.

The Orange County Coroner’s Office has not yet officially confirmed the cause of death.

The prolific daredevil performed risky stunts in major franchises including “Transformers,” “Planet of the Apes,” “The Hunger Games,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World.” Pratt, who met McFarr on the set of “Jurassic” in 2014, paid public tribute to him on Thursday.

“I am devastated to hear of the loss of my friend and former stunt double Tony McFarr,” Pratt wrote in an Instagram story. “We made several films together. We played golf, drank whiskey, smoked cigars and spent endless hours on set. I will never forget his toughness.”

“I remember he took a bad blow to the head (in the opening credits of Guardians 2) and had several staples in his head – he came right back to work and was ready to keep going,” the actor continued. “He was an absolute stud. He was always a gentleman and professional.”

The attached photos show Pratt and McFarr in matching costumes from various sets over the years, including two from the Jurassic films and another from Passengers – in which Pratt awakens from years of space sleep – with matching beards.

McFarr’s mother told TMZ he was “active and healthy” before his “shocking” and “unexpected” death. The late actor started out as an actor before becoming an in-demand stuntman for projects as diverse as “Captain America: Civil War” and “Pitch Perfect 3.”

The coroner is currently conducting toxicology tests on McFarr, who leaves behind parents, sister and daughter, TMZ reports. The grieving family will reportedly hold a memorial service before McFarr is buried near his grandmother’s grave in Pennsylvania.

“He will be missed,” Pratt wrote Thursday. “My prayers are with his friends and family, especially his daughter.”
