Anime series TERMINATOR ZERO expanded to include Rosario Dawson and more

Netflix has announced four more cast members for Production IG’s upcoming series. Terminator Zero Anime series.

In addition to Timothy Olyphant, who was recently announced as the voice of the Terminator in the series, Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), André Holland (Moonlight), Sonoyo Mizuno (House of the Dragon) and Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale).

Before we get into the characters each of them will play, it is important to point out that Terminator Zero is set in Tokyo, Japan. It takes place in two timelines: the future war in 2022 between humanity and Skynet’s relentless machine army, and 1997, when Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity.

“Trapped between the future and the past sits a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity.” Netflix’s description is teasing. “She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee, who is working to develop a new AI system to counter Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm grapples with the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by a relentless assassin from the future, forever changing the fate of his three children.”

Dawson will voice Kokori, a highly advanced AI that represents Japan’s own Skynet competition. Holland will voice Malcolm Lee, the computer programmer responsible for developing Kokoro and a father of three who is haunted by apocalyptic visions. Mizuno will voice Eiko, a resistance fighter who is sent back in time from the year 2022 to stop Malcolm from launching Kokoro. And finally, Dowd will voice Prophet, a philosophical leader of the human resistance.

Produced for Netflix by animation studio Production IG and Skydance Television. Terminator Zero will consist of eight episodes. The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 29, which is also Judgement Day.

The series is executive produced by Skydance, Japanese animation studio Production IG and Mattson Tomlin (Project Power and Little Fish). Tomlin also serves as showrunner and writer.

Netflix has not yet released a trailer for Terminator Zeroalthough fans who attend Anime Expo next month will be able to get a first look at the series. The special Terminator Zero The panel on Friday, July 5, will feature never-before-seen footage as well as discussions focusing on the new characters.
