Summer Of Music series brings Peter Morgan to Folsom City Park on Friday – Folsom Times

The City of Folsom’s Summer of Music series continues this Friday night. Presented each year by the Folsom Parks and Recreation District, Summer of Music is a four-day series spanning June and July that takes place on the Pavilion Stage at Folsom City Lions Park, providing local residents with another family-friendly and free opportunity to get outside and enjoy live music.

Friday’s event will welcome Peter Morgan to the Gazebo stage; Morgan is always a fan favorite at the concerts on the green space of the city park.

Morgan is known for composing and performing unique contemporary jazz instrumentals in a coastal smooth jazz style, spiced with a dash of blues, which is Morgan’s signature sound. According to his music bio, the talented artist has produced all six of his albums, showcasing his skills on guitar, harmonica, bass, keyboard, lap steel, dobro, pedal steel, pan flute, ukulele, drums and vocals.

Morgan has performed with some of the biggest names in jazz including Fattburger, Michael McDonald, trumpeter Chris Botti and keyboardist Phillipe Saisse, to name a few. Peter has performed multiple times at the Sacramento Jazz Festival, the largest jazz festival in the world.

In addition to the big names he has shared the stage with, Morgan also has an impressive musical resume. Highlights include his national exposure as music director for a number of public television specials, including the Boston Computer Museum’s Computer Bowl and the Software Publishers Association’s 10th Annual Excellence in Software Codie Awards, both of which aired on PBS’s Computer Chronicles. He also recently sang a song used on the WB Network’s hit show Hart of Dixie.

Folsom City Park, also known as Lions Park, is located near City Hall and next to the Folsom Public Library at 411 Stafford Street in Folsom. Concerts will be held on the scheduled evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The motto for all Summer of Music concerts is come for the music, but stay for the fun. This Friday, food trucks and vendors will be offering plenty of food and treats to enjoy during the show, making it a date or fun family night.

Following this Friday night, the concert series will welcome R&B from Innersoul on July 12th and rock band Modern Relics on July 26th.

In addition to the live music, some well-known food trucks from the region will also be there, offering plenty of delicious food and sweets. Pumping Irony will be on stage from 7 p.m. and will continue until 9 p.m.
