Taco Bell enters the price war with a $7 menu offer

Taco Bell enters the price war with a menu offer

One of America’s most popular Tex-Mex restaurants has dropped its own menu offerings, boldly following the lead of others in the latest round of price wars.

On June 27, Taco Bell announced the launch of a new $7 Luxe Cravings Box, which the chain said is designed to satisfy the public’s hunger for “high-quality, wholesome fan favorites at an affordable price.”

Previously, chains such as McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King and others had already introduced similar low-price offers.

Taco Bell’s limited time menu offer includes a Chalupa Supreme, a Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, a Double Stacked Taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce, and a medium soft drink, all 55% off.

“With the launch of the $7 Luxe Cravings Box, we are offering consumers our most coveted items at an affordable price,” said Taylor Montgomery, CMO of Taco Bell North America, in a press release.

Montgomery continued, “Our Cravings Value Menu is one of the most affordable menus in the industry, offering 10 dishes for under $3 because we believe consumers shouldn’t have to choose between affordability and abundance.”

Taco Bell is no newcomer to the price war. Its newer Cravings Value Menu launched in January and includes the Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Cheesy Double Beef Burrito, 3-Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt and the $1 Cheesy Roll Up.

In April, the chain offered a limited-time Taco Discovery Box for $5 on Taco Tuesdays through June 4. The deal included a crispy taco, a Doritos Locos taco, a Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco and a medium drink.
