Draw for newcomers in battle for victory in Meadows series

Washington, PA — It was the career debut for two-year-old fillies Foxy Seaside and Blessed Hanover, and their meeting on Thursday (June 27) at the Hollywood Casino at The Meadows had an unusual but successful result: the pair won the first race of the $10,000 Pop-Up Series.

2-5 favorite Blessed Hanover controlled the sections for Ronnie Wrenn Jr. despite being on the bench for the first quarter. But she couldn’t shake off 14-1 Foxy Seaside, who charged out of the pocket toward Anthony MacDonald until she pulled wide for the final drive. They crossed the finish line together in 1:56.1 as Flo Jo Hanover ran the show.
