The San Francisco Art Book Fair will take place in July with its seventh edition

The San Francisco Art Book Fair (SFABF) announces its seventh annual multi-day exhibition of prints by independent publishers, artists, designers, collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world at the Minnesota Street Project. SFABF is open July 19-21, with a preview on Thursday, July 18, from 6-10 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

SFABF brings the Bay Area’s unique history and perspectives into dialogue with national and international publishing communities. The fair features artist books, art catalogs, monographs, magazines, zines, printed ephemera, and artist multiples presented by 145 publishers, antiquarian bookstores, artists, and galleries from the Bay Area and beyond.

In addition to the 85 exhibitors at 1275 Minnesota Street, 45 publishers specializing in accessible and creative forms of bookmaking and publishing will be present at 1150 25th Street, Building B, Suite B, and 1201 Minnesota Street will host a drop-in program with rotating guest artists. Throughout the weekend, the SFABF will feature lectures, discussions, book launches, special projects and book signings curated by David Senior, Director of Library and Archives at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). Kenyatta AC Hinkle aka Olomidara Yaya will give a live reading from The Evanesced (Tarot deck + manual), a new book inspired by Hinkle/Yayas The Evanesced seriespresented by KACH Studio Press and Sming Sming Books. SFABF will also offer benefit editions, including a limited edition lenticular print by Heesoo Kwon, produced by Lightsource SF, and a risograph print by Craig Calderwood.

Presented by the Minnesota Street Project Foundation, SFABF’s mission is to sustain the creation and distribution of print and expand our reach to new audiences by supporting the independent publishing community of the Bay Area and beyond.
