While Taylor Swift apparently attracted some shade recently from Dave Grohl from Foo FightersShe has now received great praise from a woman who will be opening for the Foo Fighters this summer: Chrissie Hynde of Pretenders.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, responsible for hits such as “Back on the Chain Gang” and “I’ll Stand By You,” wrote on Instagram“I saw Taylor Swift (maybe you’ve heard of her) in concert recently. It shows what a girl with a guitar can do.”

“The last time I loved a show so much was Aldous Harding,” Chrissie continued, referring to the indie folk singer/songwriter from New Zealand.

“So if you haven’t already, go out and get yourself a guitar,” Chrissie concluded. “As long as you have it with you, you’ll never be alone again.”

Apparently Chrissie has done more than just watch Taylor on stage. There are photos of her leave a restaurant in London, where, according to the caption, she “had dinner with Taylor Swift” on June 11.

Starting in July, Chrissie and the Pretenders will open several Foo Fighters stadium concerts in addition to their own headlining shows. Many fans believe that Grohl’s comment about Taylor not playing live was just a joke.
