Neil Young has posted an announcement on his official website. The revered artist revealed that the remaining dates of the Love Earth Tour this summer have been cancelled. The decision came after Young cited illness from the band’s concert over a month ago, on May 22 at Pine Knob in Clarkston, Michigan, as the catalyst for cancelling the upcoming live performances.

“The Love Earth tour has been a great experience for us so far. GREAT AUDIENCE AND GREAT MUSIC. WE HAD A LOT OF FUN,” Young’s statement began. “When a few of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are not fully recovered yet, so unfortunately our great tour will be taking a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again! We know many of you have made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and patience.”

The artist concluded, “Health comes first… We want to stay and do more shows and albums for you… and us… With love and thanks to all of you from Crazy Horse… Neil, Micah, Ralph and Billy… Love Earth.” At this time, Young has not officially confirmed any plans to reschedule. Young’s cancellations affect shows over the next three months, including seven performances in his native Canada, late summer dates at the Hollywood Bowl, Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Festival and other dates.
