Michigan Tech is considered one of the best colleges in the country for students seeking a comprehensive education with excellent career preparation.

Among the nation’s public colleges and universities, Michigan Tech ranked No. 2 on the list of best schools for internships, No. 9 for best career placement and No. 18 for best schools for financial aid. In the Best Value Colleges category, which is based solely on return on investment (ROI), Michigan Tech ranked No. 33.

The Princeton Review gave Michigan Tech a 90/99 ROI score. In their Tech profile, the company’s editors praise the school for its “learning atmosphere” and for “putting students at the center of their learning experience by providing practical opportunities and pathways for career development and professional advancement.”

“We are honored to be named one of The Princeton Review’s Best Value Colleges for 2024. This recognition reflects our commitment to providing students with an affordable, high-quality education that prepares them for successful careers.”Beth Fitzpatrick, Director of Admissions

The Princeton Review selected 209 schools for its 2024 lists based on data from surveys of administrators at more than 650 colleges in 2023-24. Topics included everything from academic performance, costs and financial aid to graduation rates and student debt. The company also considered surveys of current students as well as Pay scale Surveys of alumni on their starting salary, mid-career salary, and job satisfaction. In total, The Princeton Review analyzed more than 40 data points to compile the ROI ratings on which the selection of Best Value Colleges was based.

“The schools we have selected as our Best Value Colleges for 2024 are a select group: They represent only about 8% of the country’s four-year undergraduate institutions,” said
Rob FranekEditor in Chief of The Princeton Review. “We commend their administration, faculty, staff, and alumni for all they do to educate their students and guide them toward successful careers. These colleges are also exceptional because they provide generous financial aid to students in need and/or because tuition is comparatively low.”
