Chris Hemsworth has an encounter with a spider

On Thursday, June 27, the Furiosa actor shared a video of himself coming across a giant spider web with the creepy crawly stuck in the middle. “Look at that,” Hemsworth whispered, pointing the camera at the arachnid.

That’s when the spider twitched, startling Hemsworth for a minute. “Jesus,” he said, laughing as he turned the camera’s focus back to the creature. “Didn’t even scare me,” he wrote in the caption with a Pinocchio emoji.

“This is why I will never set foot in Australia again. Ever,” another user wrote in the comment. “How did you not run away screaming? Maybe I would have,” another commented. There were plenty of Spiderman and Thor jokes too!

One person wrote, “Thor finally meets Spider-Man face to face.” Another quipped, “Leave Tom Holland alone, man…” A mother commented that her daughter recognized him as Thor, saying, “It’s Thor, he’s not afraid of anything.”

Hemsworth met his character’s hammer again on a family vacation

The Extraction actor took his family of five, consisting of wife Elsa Pataky, daughter India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, to Universal Studios during a family vacation. There, he found a signed replica of his character’s iconic Thor’s hammer in a glass case. “I don’t remember signing that,” he joked.

In a video shared on Instagram, people around him urged him to lift the hammer. “Go ask it back. If you really are Thor, then go get it,” one person recording the video told the actor. “Go on, lift it up.”

Although he did not lift the hammer, he joked that he “definitely would have summoned Mjolnir” if he had wanted to, adding that he “didn’t want to scare the kids.”

Furiosa: A star of the Mad Max saga, he first played the Norse god in 2011 and reprised the role in several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His last film in the MCU was Thor: Love and Thunder in 2022.
