This is what Taylor Swift’s engagement ring from Travis Kelce will look like

This is what Taylor Swift’s engagement ring from Travis Kelce will look like

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been together for nearly a year, and what a year it’s been! Between Taylor’s high-profile performance at the Super Bowl, Travis’ attendance at numerous Swift concerts, and their night out together at Coachella, the two have been inseparable since the day they went public with their relationship. But there’s one milestone the duo hasn’t crossed off their bucket list yet – an engagement.

Maybe we’re the Swiftie in us, but we’re wondering if a proposal is on the horizon, and even more excited about the ring Taylor might get. Will Kelce give her a sparkling diamond ring (with 13 stones!) worthy of her pop star status? Or will he keep it simple and wear a vintage multi-carat stone? Or better yet, will Travis pay homage to his career with a football-inspired design? Of course, we won’t know for sure until he actually pops the question, but that doesn’t mean we can’t come up with a few ideas and predictions.

So we asked eight well-known jewelers with experience making engagement rings what Taylor Swift’s engagement ring from Travis Kelce will look like. From vintage-inspired pieces to the number 13 and more, here’s what they had to say – including original design sketches to accompany their predictions.

An antique fancy cut diamond as predicted by Susie Salzman

Susie Saltzman is a custom engagement ring designer based in New York City with over 20 years of experience designing fine jewelry. She calls herself a diehard Swiftie and told us her favorite hits from the star are “Cruel Summer,” “August,” and “Lover,” to name a few. When asked how she would describe Taylor’s personal style, she told us she considers it “genuine, expressive, and unique,” all qualities that factor into her prediction of an antique, fancy diamond-cut engagement ring.

“I would imagine Taylor with a fancy cut antique diamond (not round brilliant cut) as most antiques are truly unique in shape and brilliance. I think her ring needs to be timeless yet unique and the details need to matter,” she says. “I could imagine her falling in love with an exaggeratedly narrow oval or pear shaped antique diamond in the 5-8 carat range. I would set her antique diamond in hidden micro pave prongs… a sort of understated luxurious detail that shows off her center diamond. The shank (band) of her engagement ring would be solid 18k yellow gold and delicate to bring the focus back to her exceptionally rare antique diamond.”

An emerald-cut diamond (with 13 stones) as predicted by Ruben Luna

Ruben Luna, founder and creative director of jewelry brand Workshop Underground, tells us he believes wholeheartedly that Taylor and Travis are the real deal (he calls himself a secret Swiftie). He can’t get enough of Swift’s classic “Love Story” and describes her jewelry style as timeless and elegant. When asked about his prediction for the Travis-Taylor engagement ring, he believes it will feature the number 13 and TNT (the matching bracelets Travis and Taylor already have), among other beautiful elements.

“I definitely picture Taylor Swift with an engagement ring with a step-cut emerald diamond of around 8 carats,” Luna explains. “Since Taylor is into vintage style, the diamond would be set in platinum Art Deco-inspired prong settings, while the ring would be 18k yellow gold (to complement her predominantly yellow gold jewelry) and then accented with 13 (her lucky number) round diamonds with vintage milgrain-style pearl details. And of course, the ring would have a hidden inscription engraved into it that reads ‘TNT.'”

A marquise-shaped diamond as predicted by Akshie Jhaveri

Akshie Jhaveri of Grown Brilliance is all about sustainability. She works with lab-grown diamonds to bring her clients ethically sourced, beautiful jewelry. She’s also a Swiftie and tells us she listens to “Love Story” constantly. Her engagement ring prediction? A marquise diamond with a three-stone setting.

“I believe Taylor would want a large marquise diamond with two beautifully cut baguette diamonds on the sides for her engagement ring. The marquise diamond in the shape of a football symbolizes precision and elegance, making it a perfect and glamorous fit for Taylor Swift’s engagement as it combines sophistication with her bold personality,” says Jhaveri. “Its three-stone setting enhances the brilliance, much like the spotlight at a championship game. Lab-grown diamonds reflect Taylor’s commitment to sustainability and modern values, making this ring an exquisite choice. It features a 6.70-carat marquise center diamond with 0.70-carat baguette diamonds on the sides.”

An antique yellow gold diamond as predicted by Olivia Laundau

When we browse social media, we tend to devour Olivia Laundau’s videos. The founder of The Clear Cut has an eye for engagement rings, and we were happy to learn that she’s also a huge fan of Taylor Swift (she loves the singer’s hit song “Bejeweled” – fitting for a jewelry designer!). Laundau describes Taylor’s jewelry style as sentimental and vintage-inspired, and predicts that Travis will opt for an antique diamond set in yellow gold when he asks.

“I think Taylor will choose an antique diamond, such as an old European cut or an old mine cut, that will be set in yellow gold. The ring will be unique, with vintage charm, but also timeless. Because she is so sentimental and loves to tell stories, her ring will have a lot of personal touches,” says Laundau. “For example, she might incorporate 6 pavé diamonds on each side of the ring or in a hidden halo, for a total of 13 diamonds, because she loves the number 13. She and Travis will definitely incorporate a personal engraving into the ring, such as a song lyric, an inside joke, a phrase they love, or an important date. I can also imagine her wanting to incorporate floral details or other artistic aspects to make the ring even more unique.”

An elongated cushion-cut diamond as predicted by Dana Gordon

Dana Gordon, founder of Dana Rebecca Designs, launched her brand in 2007 and has been crafting custom diamond jewelry since then. The jeweler believes an engagement between Swift and Kelce is imminent, and predicts that the pop star’s penchant for love songs (Gordon’s favorite is “Willow”) will prompt Travis to purchase a classic and romantic cushion-cut diamond engagement ring.

“We all know Taylor is a romantic and classicist through and through. We think fondly of her ring and imagined a romantic detail of side stones flanking an elongated cushion-cut stone,” says Gordon. “Taylor’s love for her cats will not go unnoticed by Travis and we engraved her three cats on the inside of the ring.”

A unique pear-shaped diamond as predicted by Sarah Ortega

Sarah Ortega, founder of Sarah O. Jewelry and proud Swiftie, believes Swift and Kelce are bound to get married because they’re always there for each other. Plus, the spotlight and success don’t scare them, which is fitting since Ortega’s favorite T. Swift song is “Fearless.” As for her engagement ring prediction, the jeweler has a few ideas but believes the main stone will be a unique pear-shaped diamond.

“Taylor is a lover of vintage style, so incorporating fine details was a must. However, she also possesses an undeniable modern flair that shines through in her famous era and her occasional red carpet appearances,” explains Ortega. “The design I created is a perfect balance of those two styles with a touch of Taylor magic. The ring features a pear-shaped diamond as the center stone because it’s a timeless shape, but it’s more unique than the currently trendy oval or the ever-classic round shape. The center stone is set in a half bezel for added security – so her ring will be safe for all her long appearances and trips around the world. Finally, there is a half halo of small round diamonds surrounding the top of the pear-shaped center stone and a dainty opal perched at the base. There are 9 diamonds symbolizing 1989, the year both Taylor and Travis were born. The small opal detail is an ode to Taylor’s favorite gemstone as she has shared that opal jewelry has always made her happy.”

An emerald-cut cluster diamond as predicted by Inna Kushnirski

Inna Kushnirski is a bridal sales associate at Gabriel & Co. and has worked in the bridal industry for over 10 years. When asked what her favorite Swift song is, she says it’s undoubtedly “Bejeweled” because it’s about “overcoming obstacles and becoming your most authentic self.” She also agrees with Trayvis and believes Travis will buy an emerald diamond for the duo’s upcoming engagement.

“Taylor has her own style and we’ve seen her evolve through the ages. I would predict a fancy diamond cut, like an emerald cut or maybe even an elongated cushion or radiant cut. She never follows trends – she’s the trendsetter – and these shapes are timeless, classic, yet modern,” says Kushnirski. “There’s something so romantic about these shapes, they’re reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour. We took a classic shape, an emerald cut, and added asymmetrical fancy cut diamonds in clusters on the sides (very flirty, fun and whimsical). It’s our unique take on a classic three-stone silhouette, but bespoke. We chose a platinum setting to give her optimal protection on tour, with a total carat weight of 13 carats, an ode to her lucky number that sparkles from every angle.”

A vintage-inspired diamond as predicted by Zaven Ghanimian

We also spoke to Zaven Ghanimian, jewelry designer and CEO of Simon G. Jewelry, to find out his favorite T. Swift song and his prediction for Trayvis’ engagement ring. For the song, he chose “The Lakes,” a track only true Swifties know. “They’re some of her cleverest lyrics that play on the idea of romance that she loves so much,” he explains. His ring choice? A sparkling vintage-style diamond ring.

“I think she would keep her ring simple, elegant, romantic and vintage,” notes Ghanimian. “The design is also inspired by Taylor being one of the biggest stars in the world right now, showing off a brilliant center stone that shines beyond itself.”
