49 Winchester releases new song “Tulsa” from upcoming album “Leavin’ This Holler”

They don’t miss.

Today, 49 Winchester released a new song called “Tulsa” from their upcoming album Leave this holler, which was written by frontman Isaac Gibson with a nod to the Don Williams classic “Tulsa Time” as well as the Kenny Rogers and The First Edition favorite “Tulsa Turnaround” in the chorus.

Gibson says he wrote it in 2022 after leaving a show at the Mercury Lounge in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were driving through a snowstorm and slipped on the road, which was an “overall tricky situation.” He added that his anxiety that night was high for several reasons:

“This song is a rock ‘n’ roll song with an interesting backstory. I wrote it on a freezing cold night in 2022 as I was leaving a show at the Mercury Lounge in Tulsa. It was in the middle of a snowstorm on the way to a series of shows in Texas.

The highway was covered in snow, we spun the van and trailer sideways on the road, and it was a pretty scary situation. My fears weren’t alleviated by the fact that Oklahoma had recently legalized a plant we know we like, which is where the song comes from.

It’s one of those snapshots from my life that I simply put on paper to clear my head.”

Additionally, the band released “Yearnin’ For You” and “Fast Asleep” from the album.

Hailing from the small town of Castlewood in the Southern Appalachian region of Virginia, 49 Winchester has developed an incredibly unique sound that is, to put it simply, a blend of Southern Rock, Folk, Roots Rock and Country. This sound has quickly made them one of the hottest new bands in country music.

After a decade of touring hard and playing literally everywhere, frontman Isaac Gibson realised on stage in front of 20,000 people at London’s O2 Arena last October that it had been exactly ten years since he formed the band:

“There’s never been anything in my life that lasted a decade. We had just finished high school when we played our first show – 10 years later we’re touring the UK and Europe with Luke Combs.”

He went on to say that you finally feel like your hard work is paying off and you are starting to reap the fruits of your labor:

“It’s a testament to the unusual fact that we are musicians from a very specific place in the world. And it’s a testament to the fact that we consider each other more like family than friends.”

And now they are ready for the next step in that journey with the aforementioned new album, produced by the band together with Stewart Myers and featuring the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Maggie Antone, among others.
