Fans of Chris Rock‘S Everyone hates Chris will like what we are about to share. Today, Comedy Central announced the voice cast for the newly conceived adult animated series Everyone still hates Chris. Besides rock, Terry Crews And Tichina Arnold will reprise their roles from the original live-action series. The new series will feature Tim Johnson Jr., Ozioma Akagha, Terrence Little GardenhighAnd Gunnar Sizemore.

Produced by CBS Studios, Chris Rock Enterprises and 3 Arts Entertainment, the premiere is scheduled for later this year. Everyone still hates Chris offers Rock (Rustin, Fargo) as an adult Chris, who tells stories inspired by his experiences growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn in the late 1980s. Crews (America’s Got Talent) voices Julius, Chris’ father, who is a gentle giant with a tireless work ethic and a penny-pinching streak. He grew up in dire poverty, so he knows the price of everything down to the penny. He works two jobs to support the family, and on his days off he takes a third job. Arnold’s (The neighborhood) Rochelle is Chris’s mother – she is smart, strong-willed and has a caring spirit, but she can also be hot-headed, especially when it comes to her children. She has no tolerance for nonsense and as a result quits more jobs in a month than most people quit in their entire lives.

In addition, Johnson Jr. (Saturdays) will voice young Chris, a nerd who wants to be cool but is overshadowed by his younger brother, tormented by his little sister and thwarted by his stingy father. Akagha (Delilah) will feature Tonya, Chris’s feisty little sister with the face of an angel and the heart of a demon, who gets along with her middle brother Drew but takes every opportunity to get Chris into trouble. Gardenhigh (Dangerous force) will voice Drew, the golden child of the family who is the epitome of black excellence: handsome, athletic, a ladies’ man, taller and cooler than his older brother Chris. Sizemore (Kung Fu Panda) will lend his voice to Greg, Chris’ only friend at school who is girl-obsessed and status-conscious and is raised by a single father.

“I’m so excited to introduce the world to another fun side of my childhood,” Rock shared in a statement. Showrunner and executive producer Sanjay Shah added, “I intended this job to be about getting free tickets to a Chris Rock stand-up show, but we ended up making something we’re proud of and true to the original series we all loved.” The upcoming animated series is produced by Eye Animation Productions, the animation arm of CBS Studios.
